ICYMI—Last month, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) traveled across her congressional district to hear from constituents, community leaders, and elected officials about the challenges they face and share insights into her legislative efforts in Congress to address these issues and improve quality of life for Coloradans. She hosted town halls, visited small businesses, toured and participated in outdoor activities, held meetings with local officials, and honored constituents in towns throughout Jefferson, Broomfield, Lake, Chaffee, Fremont, and Teller counties.
“Since taking office in January, I have been committed to bringing the voices of Colorado’s 7th Congressional District with me to Washington,” said Pettersen. “From the Front Range foothills to Rocky Mountain peaks, our people and ideas are just as diverse as our geography. My goal is to represent every one of my constituents–regardless of whether they voted for me or not–and getting out into the community to hear directly from them is crucial for us to create a government that truly works for all.”
In addition to other events, Pettersen’s district tour included:
Visited the Arbor View Senior Living Center, toured Electric Cherry and the Arvada Tavern along with the Arvada Chamber of Commerce, as well as a tour and discussion about child care accessibility at Everbrook Academy in Arvada.
Hosted a roundtable in Golden with local leaders, first responders, and law enforcement officers to discuss violence prevention, the housing crisis, and the opioid epidemic.
Visited and unveiled a veteran “Wall of Honor” at The Ridge Senior Living Facility and hosted an event in her Lakewood office to honor a fallen WWll soldier who was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart, among other medals.
Hosted a town hall in Westminster for residents and joined their Chamber of Commerce to tour Jefferson Academy and Swisslog Healthcare.
Hosted the House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries at Broomfield FISH Food Pantry and Family Resource Center to discuss the challenges of food insecurity in Colorado, as well as joined a Colorado Business Roundtable and toured Alio Medical.
Toured the new Lutheran Medical Campus and the Howard Johnson Hotel, which is being renovated into affordable apartments, alongside Wheat Ridge leaders, as well as a visit to the International Paper Company.
Visited the National Fish Hatchery and Cloud City Conservation in Lake County, as well as a tour of the the Climax Molybdenum Mine.
Hosted a town hall on extreme heat and weather with residents in Buena Vista, toured the Comfurt Gas facility, went rafting in Browns Canyon with The Adventure Company, and joined the FlyGals organization for a fishing trip on the Arkansas River.
Visited with residents at the Bruce McCandless Veterans Community Living Center and toured the Estes Industries facility in Fremont County.
Visited the Peak Vista Health Center in Divide and spoke with staff and residents about the health care services they provide in Teller County.
