Rep. Pettersen Announces 2023 Congressional Art Competition Winners

LAKEWOOD—
U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) announced the winners of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition at a reception for student participants. 95 pieces of art were entered this year from 16 different high schools across the 7th Congressional District. The winning piece, chosen by a panel of local arts professionals, will be hung in the U.S. Capitol Building for a year. Runner-up entries will be displayed in Pettersen’s Lakewood, Cañon City, and Washington D.C. offices.

“There are so many talented students across our district, and this was such a great opportunity to see their artwork on display,” said Pettersen. “This was not just a celebration of our students and their work, but also of our public schools and art programs. It remains a priority of mine to protect these programs, so that students of all backgrounds can continue to express themselves creatively.”
